I decided to throw together some scarfs to sell. The scarfs where pretty easy and there was a couple different ways i made the scarfs. One of the ways to make a scarf is to first pick out some fleece that you like. I picked out 2 different colors of fleece no design.

I picked the width and length I wanted for the scarf. I didn’t use a chart or anything like that I just went with my gut. I did this by just guessing how long a scarf should be and how much cold it could keep out.

I then put the two pieces if fleece together and sewed it up the middle of the fleece scarf. I did not do a fancy stitch just a straight stitch.

After that i went and cut each side to make a fringe (like you cut when you make a tie blanket)

It was quick and easy. I also just used some fleece I had around the house. Nice way to use up extra fleece and get a great gift out of it.

Here is a pic on how the scarf turned out.

This Scarf will be made available in my store. I will be posting more scarfs and how to make the scarfs very soon.

Well I thought I would start making some posts on how sewing would help people with financial problems. And I thought I would start with how it can save you money on some things that are very easy to sew. For example pillow cases. These can cost a lot of money. But you can go buy half a yard of fabric, and some thread and you can make your own. For one pillow case you would need a half of yard of fabric (standard pillow), A color of thread to match. Now you can use a sewing a machine or a sew it by hand. You take the fabric and fold it in half so that the pretty sides are together. You then pin each of the long sides together. Then you take your needle and thread or you head to your sewing machine and stitch up each side. Take the pins out turn it right side in and you have your new pillow case. The cost of this depends on how much the fabric you pick costs. It takes about a half hour to make. Quick easy and cheap. A great way to save money!
